The winery

The winery Clot de les Soleres takes its name from one of the plots of the Heredad Ferrer de la Vall estate.

There is evidence of the farmhouse of the Ferrer del Valle estate since the 16th century. The house houses fermentation vats that have been silent witnesses of several extensions throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. Around 1880, a separate building was built exclusively for winemaking, with fermentation vats and 1000-liter butts for storage. Here, between 1300 and 1800 loads of grapes were transformed into 1600 to 2000 hectoliters of wine, depending on the year.

But the arrival of phylloxera in Piera around 1888 brought economic problems and labor shortages, leading to the abandonment of part of the land. Throughout the 20th century, winemaking declined until it ceased to be produced commercially in the late 1970s and early 1980s, opting to sell all the grape production in the large wineries in the area.

However, 2000 marked a turning point. In the spirit of reviving the old family tradition, new vineyards were planted. In 2006, the old winery underwent a complete remodeling, preserving the essence of its structure, but modernizing it with state-of-the-art machinery and stainless steel tanks.

The winery project was born with the desire to dignify the work in the vineyard. With the price of grapes in large wineries that did not recognize the work of the farmer or the quality of the grapes, it was decided to embark on the path of artisanal winemaking, respecting and reflecting the work in the vineyards of Can Ferrer de la Vall. Clot de les Soleres makes wine exclusively with grapes from the property, although an important part of the production is currently sold to the large wineries in the area.

In 2008, Clot de les Soleres launched its first red wine on the market.

The winery produces exclusively natural wines, without adding or removing anything, without sulfites or other oenological additives. The characteristics of our wines vary from year to year, reflecting the climatic diversity of the vineyards.

From the beginning to the final product, the entire process is under our control, guaranteeing the origin and quality of our products: organic cultivation of the vineyards, manual harvesting and transport in crates, winemaking following biodynamic principles, bottling and labeling.
